Spotlight on the startups that are standing out in Central Africa's energy landscape
On October 31, 2023, the Central African stage of the "EDF Pulse Africa Tour" was held, an event dedicated to rewarding innovative startup operating in the energy sector. 2 startups were awarded during this event which took place in Douala, showing EDF's strong involvement across the continent in supporting Africa's most promising startup to respond to global energetic issues and foster economic development.
Entrepreneurs from Cameroon, Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo presented their innovations in front of a distinguished panel of regional experts, including: Olivier Fesquet, Managing Director EDF Cameroun, Christ Anderson Ahoua Boua, Head of Communication EDF Afrique, Oumoul Aissatou, Director of Planning and Studies AER, Valery Nkue, Director of Renewable Energies MINEE, Victor Noumoue, Deputy Managing Director Société Générale, Thierry Nyamen, CEO NT FOOD Secteur Agro-alimentaire, Naomie Dinamona, CEO Clever Energy Services, Mohamadou Halidou, Director of ENSPM University of Maroua, Franck Sipowa, ead of Higher Education and Research UCAC ICAM, and Guislaine Tessa Ketcha, Founder and CEO Millenium Immobilier.

Diwa Innovation's solution is based on a unique, cost-effective design, incorporating clay as a fundamental element to ensure optimal temperature conservation and food preservation.
Saadio Momegni
representing Kit BioEnergie
The startup Kit BioEnergie won the jury's special prize for innovation
In order to fight more activly againt climate change, this company designed a mobile biodigester that produces biogas and biofertilizers. It contributes to more sustainable agriculture by valorizing organic waste to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and offer an ecological alternative to traditional chemical fertilizers.
Diwa Energie joins Pylon, Knights Energy Kenya, SeaH4 PTY Ltd and Atarec for the EDF Pulse Africa Grand Final which will take place in December 2023. An opportunity to win up to €20,000 and become part of the EDF Pulse Africa Accelerator community, an acceleration program bringing together stakeholders committed to supporting and growing African "nuggets" in the field of energy access.
