Most EDF industrial facilities – power plants, dams, wind farms, power lines, etc. – are located in or near natural regions. They impact on the surrounding flora and fauna.
As part of its CAP 2030 strategic programme and its corporate social responsibility goal to “Launch a positive approach to biodiversity”, in 2017 EDF group pledged to assess the ecological sensitivity of the surrounding site of all its industrial facilities by 2020 (near 1,000 sites on 24 countries). By the end of 2017, the Group had covered 22% of its industrial sites. Sites located in most sensitive areas will take appropriate action to protect or enhance biodiversity. EDF Group will seek to deliver these actions in partnership with external stakeholders.
