EDF, an international presence in the natural gas market

In France, EDF is the leading alternative supplier of natural gas, with 2.1 million customers¹. In Europe, EDF Groupe is present in the natural gas market mainly through its Edison subsidiary in Italy, but also through its EDF Energy and Luminus subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and Belgium, respectively. It also relies on EDF Trading for its short-term operations in wholesale markets and in Dalkia, particularly for cogeneration plants. Outside Europe, the Group is active in the natural gas market, particularly in the United States, where EDF Energy Services is a major supplier of natural gas to large industrial customers and distributors.

Diversified gas supply sources

In Europe, EDF Groupe's gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies are sourced both in the short- and medium-term gas markets and through a diversified portfolio of short- and long-term contracts in Qatar, Russia, the US, the North Sea, North Africa and Azerbaijan. In the US, the bulk of supply comes from gas markets. In the rest of the world, specific contracts have been established to guarantee the supply of the Group's gas-fired power stations. In the field of LNG, EDF has entered into contracts with the aim, in particular, of making the most of the regasification capacity of Dunkirk LNG terminal.

2023: the end of regulated gas tariffs in France for residential customers

This has been effective for professional customers since the end of 2020. It will become effective for residential customers in mid-2023. The consequences, steps to take, opportunities... EDF tells you all about it!
