Welcome to the world of electricity networks and storage.

R&D EXPERIENCE

Smart grids are essential to the energy transition, enabling the integration of renewable energy sources and the electrification of energy uses. From managing more dynamic and resilient electricity systems at different scales by leveraging flexibility, to supporting the electrification of new energy uses and their integration into power grids, EDF R&D is helping drive the changes needed to build tomorrow’s grid: smarter, more flexible and fit for the future.

Electricity health check

Since Edison and Tesla, the electricity signal has deteriorated over time. Our daily uses, which involve more and more electronic and electrical devices, modify the phase difference of the signal and affect the original quality of the electricity. To adapt, EDF R&D is contributing to drafting new standards and building the network of tomorrow, even smarter and more flexible.
