Université Paris Dauphine-PSL, École Polytechnique, Crédit Agricole CIB, EDF and the Europlace Institute of Finance (Groupe Louis Bachelier) have renewed their partnership for the Research Chair, established in 2006, for a further five years. The Chair aims to develop new quantitative approaches tailored to the sustainable development challenges facing the economics and finance sectors.

For this new five-year term, the Chair’s team will build on fifteen years of accumulated experience to continue developing and applying quantitative methods. Its future research will focus on three main areas:

  • Risk management in the context of climate change and ecological, energy and agricultural transitions.
  • Analysis of ecological and health crises.
  • Modelling connected devices, given their central role in the transitions.

The Chair will also continue to promote the dissemination and advancement of knowledge, notably by organising scientific events (seminars, workshops, annual conferences and round-table discussions) and publishing articles and books for professional and academic audiences.

Alongside the renewal of the Chair, the Energy Markets Finance Laboratory (FiME) has also been renewed for a further five years. Established jointly by Université Paris Dauphine-PSL, École Polytechnique, EDF, the Group of National Schools of Economics and Statistics (GENES) and the Europlace Institute of Finance, this research initiative focuses on developing models and numerical methods to address energy-related challenges.

For the 2022–2026 period, the FiME Laboratory will focus on three research themes: consumers, production and the financial environment. Particular attention will be paid to analysing investment dynamics in low-carbon energy in a financial environment characterised by significant price fluctuations.
