A powerful symbol of the Paris 2024™ Olympic and Paralympic Games™, the Cauldron will return to the Tuileries Garden from 21 June to 14 September 2026. Two years after captivating millions of spectators around the world for the first time, this spectacular creation will once again rise into the Parisian sky each evening at sunset.

Requested by the President of the French Republic, in coordination with the City of Paris and overseen by the Prefecture of the Île-de-France Region and the Paris Prefecture, this return brings together the Musée du Louvre, EDF, the City of Paris, the Paris Police Prefecture, Aérophile, Aimko, Mathieu Lehanneur and the Olympic authorities. It continues the Olympic legacy born from the success of the Paris 2024™ Games and, particularly with younger generations in mind, extends the momentum created by the Olympic and Paralympic celebrations.

The Cauldron will be freely accessible, with no reservation required, during the day in the Tuileries Garden. After the garden closes each evening, visitors will still be able to enjoy its ascent from outside the garden. It will offer Parisians, residents of the Île-de-France region and visitors from around the world a unique experience in the heart of the French capital.

Designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, the Paris 2024™ Olympic and Paralympic Games™ Cauldron embodied a groundbreaking concept. Paris 2024 and EDF joined forces to create a 100% electric flame, requiring no fuel and made solely of water and light. The Olympic and Paralympic flame is recreated by EDF in the form of the Anniversary Flame, which rises into the sky thanks to a 22.4-metre-diameter helium balloon developed and operated each evening by Aérophile.

The 2025 edition attracted 2.5 million visitors to the Tuileries, confirming the public’s strong attachment to this iconic symbol. Following this year’s edition, the Cauldron will return for one final season in the summer of 2027.
