As part of its electrification strategy, EDF has identified several former sites it owns that can quickly host projects with high electricity consumption. These sites benefit from favorable grid connections, enabling the optimization of project implementation timelines.
In this dynamic, on March 3, 2025, EDF launched two calls for expressions of interest (CEI) to offer access to three “turnkey” sites from its land assets, specifically prepared to host future high-power data centers.
To support digital companies in developing their projects, EDF provides:
-
Immediately available land with strong electrical connection potential, significantly reducing implementation timelines.
-
Personalized support covering all necessary procedures, from design to commissioning.
-
Tailored electricity supply and service offers to meet the specific needs of interested operators.
The first three sites concerned are:
- The Montereau-Vallée-de-la-Seine site (Seine-et-Marne), located in the municipalities of Vernou-La-Celle-sur-Seine and La Grande Paroisse;
- The La Maxe and Richemont sites, located in Moselle.
A fourth site has already been identified, with its location to be revealed later. EDF also plans to select two additional sites, bringing the total number of available lands for this type of project to six.
These calls for expressions of interest aim to select operators capable of developing and operating high-power data centers. Selection will be based on objective criteria, including the credibility and maturity of the proposed projects.
The call for expressions of interest is now closed. The winners will be announced in summer 2025.
