Trainers Who Are Industry Professionals
In 2024, the satisfaction rate among trainees who completed an evaluation was 98.6%
Based on EDF R&D’s skills, expertise and know-how, ITech training courses are designed and delivered by research engineers who are recognised experts in their fields, both within and outside the company. Their work involves combining theory with practical application. Their day-to-day interactions with EDF’s many operational units enable them to adapt and further develop their skills and, in turn, enhance the content of the training courses they offer.
A Training Approach Focused on Practical Application
For each training course, a training manager oversees all the content. Interactive sessions are developed, using exercises, case studies and practical work (numerical simulations or hands-on experiments using test rigs) to demonstrate phenomena and concepts and reinforce learning. Laboratory visits are organised whenever relevant to the subject, and digital tools are also incorporated.
The 2026 catalogue features four new training courses:
- The offering in the core fuel and neutron physics competency area has been expanded, with redesigned courses on reactor physics phenomena; normal operation of Pressurised Water Reactors (PWRs) and incident and accident transients in Pressurised Water Reactors (PWRs).
- A new course on using the Europlexus code has been added to the mechanics training portfolio.
Two Training Courses Delivered Through an ITech R&D / CEA INSTN Partnership
- Durability of Concrete Structures in Pressurised Water Reactor Nuclear Power Plants
- Use of the Europlexus Code
Different Training Formats
In-person training courses take place at EDF R&D sites (EDF Lab Paris-Saclay, EDF Lab les Renardières and EDF Lab Chatou), close to the laboratories, as well as at the EDF Paris-Saclay Campus. At a client's request, training can be delivered at the client's premises or tailored to meet specific needs (customised training). Remote training courses are becoming increasingly available and can be accessed via LMS (Learning Management System) platforms or collaborative tools.
