Climate50: a leading global benchmark for committed investors

Launched in 2020, the annual Climate50 ranking aims to recognise investors backing the growth of ClimateTech. It is based on an evaluation methodology that analyses both their investment activity and their contribution to the transition to net zero.

Investors featured in the Climate50 are assessed against seven distinct metrics, split between direct and indirect measures.

Direct measures, which account for 85% of the overall score, focus on investors’ activity. They are based exclusively on investments that contribute to tackling climate change, drawing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework. These metrics take into account a range of indicators, including the volume of investments aligned with the SDGs, their progression over time, exits achieved, and the valuation of portfolio companies.

Indirect measures, representing the remaining 15% of the score, are based on a public vote open to the entire ecosystem. This year, the voting phase ran from February to April 2026.

EDF Pulse Ventures has now entered the Top 50 of committed ClimateTech investors for the first time.

EDF Pulse Ventures: a key role in driving climate-focused innovation

Following EDF Pulse Ventures being named CVC of the Year at the Maddy Invest Awards, this latest ranking once again underscores the strategic role of EDF Group’s corporate venture arm in supporting startups committed to building a net-zero future.

EDF Pulse Ventures’ investment strategy is closely aligned with the Group’s strategic priorities, with a particular focus in 2026 on accelerating electrification, enhancing the performance of low-carbon generation, and strengthening health and safety. These three levers are key to driving the long-term transformation of our energy systems and tackling climate change.
