The EDF Group has finalized the sale of the Norte Fluminense gas-fired power plant to Âmbar Energia, in a transaction valued at R$1.4 billion (approximately €230 million), after obtaining the required authorizations.
Through regular investments and excellent operational expertise, the EDF Group has maintained a high level of availability for this 827 MW plant throughout its 20 years of operation. The electricity generated by Norte Fluminense was sold under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) until December 2024.
As a subsidiary of the J&F group and a leading natural gas-fired power generator in Brazil, Âmbar Energia is strategically positioned to provide competitive gas solutions to the facility.
