EDF Pulse Start-up Awards worldwide
The EDF Pulse Awards Grand Est are organised by EDF’s Grand Est Regional Delegation in tandem with the EDF Group’s various business entities in the Grand Est Region. With this contest, the Group aims to shine a spotlight on the region’s innovative businesses that are mobilising and innovating in support of energy transition and our electrical future.
More specifically, EDF Pulse Grand Est is designed to showcase innovation in the energy sector and to support the development of innovative businesses in the Grand Est Region and the countries it borders.
Technological and digital solutions designed to improve operational, environmental and social performance in industrial activities related both to nuclear and renewable energy generation and to electricity and energy grid management.
Technological and digital solutions that contribute to the development of tomorrow’s cities and regions that are designed with people and the environment in mind.
Innovative products or services using new technologies with the aim of improving customer relations and digital and energy services, both for private customers and businesses.
Participants who submit projects that comply with the entry conditions within the timeframes specified and via the application site, which are then accepted by the Organisers, will become "Candidates".
Candidates whose projects are selected to be presented to the internal panel will then become "Nominees".
Finally, the Nominees whose projects are chosen by the Grand Jury (1 from each category) will become "Winners". The Winner from each of the 3 categories will be awarded prize money of €10,000 and EDF support to develop their project.
The EDF Pulse Awards Grand Est were unveiled on Thursday 27 June in Strasbourg, during the "360 Possibles" organised by Grand E-nov. Today, they granted three award winners who will each revieve a Prize money of €10,000 to help their development and a support from EDF to enhance their project. Created in 2015 Flod allows for the real-time detection of structural anomalies in energy networks using broad-spectrum sensors and on-board Artificial Intelligence.
Created in 2015 Qemotion analyses the emotions of customers in operational situations by using their data, even unstructured data such as written comments, emails, social networks, etc.
Created in 2019, EIFHYTEC is developing a disruptive compression solution for hydrogen, using a thermochemical effect that eliminates the constraints of mechanical compression.
The attendees of the event could also vote for their favourite startup among the 13 candidates. EIFHYTEC, allready awarded with the Innovative services for regions, won the special award given by the public with a new p rize money of €3,000.
The Grand Jury of EDF Pulse Awards Grand Est is chaired by Didier Vaucois, Regional Delegateof EDF Grand Est, with Patrick Beaussaut, Startegic Marketing Manager of EDF Pulse Croissance, Carole Haury, Région Grand Est ; Jean-Paul Hasseler, Manager of CCI Meuse Haute-Marne ; Sarah Charvaux, Scal’E-nov starups booster ; Stéphane Chauffriat, manager of SEMIA ; Jean-Michel Halm, Vice-manager of Technopole de l’Aube ; Florence Christmann, Manager of Thi’pi ; Pierre-Alain Muller, VP Innovation - UHA ; Alexi Perrino, Opérationnal Director of Materalia ; Katia Vagné, General Delegate of Grand Est Numérique association.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Grand ESt Region covers an area where 180,200 companies are located.
Founded in January 2018, Grand E-nov is the Local Agency for Innovation in the Grand Est Region.
