EDF POWER NETWORKS LAB ON THE SERVICE OF START UP COMPANIES

EDF Power Networks Lab carried out unprecedented short-circuit tests for the young Danish start-up, Relibond.
To validate a new cable preparation solution and connector system developed by ReliBond, 6 short-circuits of 100 kA intensity were carried out in a single day, on a loop made up of 8 cables and 4 connectors for a total length of 11 metres.
The exceptional thermal and dynamic constraints generated by the repetition of the tests (6) and the level of current (100 kA) put the EDF Power Networks Lab installations and its teams to a severe trial.
The know-how and careful preparation prior to these demanding tests contributed to a successful outcome of this test. This shows the extent to which the EDF Power Networks Lab is able to execute such extraordinary tests.
