Description of the offer

Join an international group, a leader in low-carbon growth and committed to combating climate change.

NUWARD, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, is developing small nuclear reactors (SMRs) for the safe, low-carbon production of electricity and heat. Our SMR, called ‘NUWARD SMR’, will be simple, modular and prefabricated, with a design based on proven technological building blocks.

Our ambition is to deliver Europe's first SMR by 2030. Take part in decarbonisation and energy security, and work for the future of European energy. Join us on this adventure!

Your missions 💬

Your responsibility will be to implement from the design stage the methods to consider civil construction and constructability, in the design, in order to achieve the objectives, i.e. to ultimately reduce NUWARD SMR construction duration.

Your mission will include :

  • Contribute to the Constructability strategy and ensure its consistent application between the Islands
  • Define and optimize construction sequences with each island and integrate them into the overall schedule
  • Ensure that constructability processes and methods (Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), IKEA™ method, constructability reviews, 4D modelling) are taken into account in a homogeneous manner,
  • Develop plans at the scale of the facility or Island that integrate, coordinate and sequence the civil work activities in order to obtain the optimal construction sequence (efficient and safe, taking into account the feedback of European construction companies):
    • Construction and Introduction Sequences,
    • Introduction routes and handling of equipment and materials,
    • Temporary services (scaffolding, temporary utilities, etc.)
    • Working areas, warehousing areas, storage areas.
  • Ensure that conventional and nuclear safety considerations are recognized as critical to the success of the project and integrated into planning processes.
  • Develop generic site activities prior to the FCD (First Concrete Date) and define the workshops, warehouses and temporary site equipment that can be used for the construction of the Islands.
