EDF reinforces its nuclear offer to Poland and signs with Respect Energy a specific Exclusive Cooperation Agreement for the development of nuclear power projects in Poland based on NUWARD™ SMR technology

During a dedicated event organised at the French Embassy in Poland and in the presence of H.E. Frédéric Billet, Ambassador of France to Poland, EDF and Respect Energy announced the signature of a Cooperation Agreement to jointly develop nuclear power projects in Poland based on NUWARD ™ SMR technology on specific sites.

This agreement marks EDF’s and Respect Energy’s firm intention to jointly proceed with the development of SMR projects in Poland and confirms the strong interest towards NUWARD™ technology which has been selected by the Respect Energy to expand its footprint in the nuclear energy field.

EDF and Fortum sign a Framework Cooperation Agreement for Nuclear New Build in Finland and Sweden

On the occasion of the second International NUWARD™ Advisory Board meeting held in Lyon (France) today, EDF and Fortum announced the signature of a Framework Cooperation Agreement (FCA).

This agreement marks EDF’s and Fortum’s intention to study opportunities for cooperation for the development of nuclear reactor projects in Finland and Sweden, both with conventional large reactors (EPR) and SMRs (NUWARD™).

EDF announces the establishment of the International NUWARD™ Advisory Board (INAB) to provide advice and insights on the development of NUWARD™ SMR

On the occasion of the World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris (WNE), EDF announces the set-up of its International NUWARD™ Advisory Board (INAB).

The establishment of the INAB is a major step forward supporting the development of NUWARD™: it will gather highly experienced and senior representatives from prominent international industry, academic and research organizations to provide value-driven insights, critical analysis and advice in relation to NUWARD™ technical features, industrial approach and economics.

 

EDF announces that its Small Modular Reactor NUWARD™ will be the case study for a European early joint regulatory review led by the French nuclear Safety Authority with the participation of the Czech and Finnish safety authorities

Following EDF’s initiative, the Group is proud to announce that its NUWARD™ SMR reactor design will be the test case for a European early joint review led by the French Safety Authority (ASN) with the participation of the Czech (SUJB) and Finnish (STUK) safety authorities. By this action EDF confirms its leading position in fostering European cooperation and supporting the acceleration of international SMR licensing, thereby creating momentum towards harmonisation of SMR regulations.
