Sheets of paper in hand, the schoolchildren track down heat-loss revealing draughts. When the paper flutters near an opening, it means energy is being lost. The pupils’ observations are passed on to the school head, who decides what work needs doing.
Twenty pilot schools Twenty schools in 20 different regions are setting the example and the pace. They are sharing their findings and lessons learnt with other schools. The aim is to establish a large network of “friends of the climate schools” throughout Italy. The Eco-Generation programme is sponsored by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and driven by Edison, EDF’s Italian subsidiary, and the NGO Legambiente.
