With the EDF Group, which is involved in the energy transition on a daily basis, Paris 2024 is aiming to organize the most responsible Olympic and Paralympic Games in history.
EDF, premium partner and official supplier of renewable electricity to the Paris 2024 Games
The Olympic Games of Paris 2024 will take place from July 26th to August 11th, 2024, and the Paralympic Games from August 28th to September 8th, 2024.
Symbolizing the fervor of an entire nation, the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are at the heart of an ambitious initiative aimed at making this global event a leading example of environmental responsibility. The Paris 2024 Organizing Committee has set a goal to halve the carbon footprint of the event compared to the average of its previous editions.
As a premium partner and official supplier of renewable electricity for the Paris 2024 Games, EDF will make a decisive contribution to this objective through the range of expertise of EDF SA and the six subsidiaries included in the partnership: EDF Renouvelables, EDF ENR, EDF PEI, Dalkia, Hynamics, and Izivia.
Among the commitments and projects planned under the partnership, EDF will provide 100% renewable electricity. The Group will develop two innovative solar projects: a nearly 1,000 m2 canopy of flexible photovoltaic panels on the temporary bus station of the Athletes' Village and a floating photovoltaic plant on the Seine, consisting of 720 m2 of deployable solar panels. 900 electric vehicle charging stations will be made available to delegations, observers, judges, referees, etc.
The EDF Group is also contributing to the construction of long-term infrastructures that will be used during and after the Paris 2024 Games: the future "Les Belvédères" district in Saint-Ouen (93), the Olympic aquatic center in Saint-Denis (93), and the nautical stadium in Vaires-sur-Marne (77).
In line with its CSR commitments, the EDF Group is implementing a process to reduce and offset the carbon footprint of its marketing activations deployed as part of the partnership, through four high-value environmental carbon offset projects, three in France and one in Indonesia.

Sports, a tool in the service of change
On the occasion of the Paris 2024 Games, EDF is accelerating the momentum that has been underway for several years to create lasting change in mentalities and behaviors through sports. This is the essence of the "enJeux d'avenir 2024" program launched by the company in the summer of 2022, aimed at promoting and developing responsible and accessible sports for all, through initiatives conducted across the entire territory. Primarily targeted at the younger generations, this program aims to change perceptions of disabilities (through the "Un champion dans mon école" operation) or support swimming education (with the "1, 2, 3 Nagez!" program).
Bringing together the energy of sports around major causes.
After being a partner of the London 2012 Games, the Group has been an Olympic and Paralympic Partner of the Paris 2024 Games since November 2019. It is also a long-standing partner of four French Federations (Canoe-Kayak, Football, Handisport, Natation), always with the same objective, in line with its values of diversity, inclusivity, and performance: popularize and encourage sports for all.
The goal is simple: celebrate the values of sports - which are also the values of the EDF group - to empower everyone to become agents of change.
