Group employees totalled 154,845 at 31 December 2016, including 68,464 at EDF, 38,742 at Enedis and 47,639 at other subsidiaries and shareholdings.

The Group’s recruitment in 2016 showed a downward trend, marking a turnaround from previous years, although the volume of new hires remained high (more than 7,700).

At EDF SA in particular, following a series of major recruitment campaigns led from 2010 to 2015 to offset numerous retirements, the company intends to foster internal job mobility in order to optimise existing human resources and develop their career paths.

New hires (in number)

The Group hired 7,724 new employees in 2016. EDF Group employee turnover rate(1) was 5.89 in 2016, compared with 5.3 in 2015 and 5.6 in 2014.

(1) Turnover is calculated on the basis of the number of hires and departures (dismissals, retirements, early retirements, resignations, redundancies). They represent the “entries + exits” divided by two out of the total physical workforce at the end of the period and multiplied by 100.
