There are many means of producing, exchanging, storing and consuming energy. They can be mixed and matched to adjust to individual lifestyles. This diversity encourages exchanging and recovering energy between the occupiers of a single building. Night and day, the building is "alive" with the ongoing energy flows.
My Sunshine and I
EDF's "My Sunshine and I" can now offer self-consumption products and services to its residential customers. The principle is that electricity produced by photovoltaic units is optimised by a smart, connected control system and consumed directly by the household. Excess production is stored. Residential customers can then take part in their electricity consumption, and improve their self-consumption ratio with a control system that manages household usage by incorporating weather forecasts. Any electricity that is not immediately consumed by the household is stored first in the hot water tank, then in a battery.
