MIP robotics has developed the first “accessible” industrial robot. Programmable in the blink of an eye, and with no prior knowledge needed, this versatile artificial arm is able to carry out a wide range of repetitive tasks at no risk to the operator. It is perfectly suited to small series production and multi-tasking, and the price is another major bonus: it is extremely affordable, guaranteeing a return on the investment in under one year in most cases. Robots are becoming more accessible with MIP Robotics, making them the perfect partner for any small business.
The seven members of this young team have all of the technical skills required for robotics, including expertise in mechanics, electronics and software.
4 questions to MIP Robotics
Where did you get the idea for this startup?
We noticed that the use of industrial robotics is currently not very common among SMEs. After consulting numerous manufacturers, we identified what was holding the equipment back: the complexity of use, the difficulty in installing the robots, with barriers due to the danger and the cost. We therefore developed a model that aimed to make industrial robotics more accessible.
Any recent good news?
Having developed an initial model, we are now working on new versions: for example, a completely waterproof robot and a large-scale robot.
What is the most unexpected thing that your startup has made you do?
Some of the team members are learning about subjects that were completely unknown to them previously. Following a career in finance, for example, they have had to dive into the production of the first robot prototypes: mechanical assembly, wiring of electronic boards. There are so many things to discover.
In what way does your project revolutionise your category?
We make high technology accessible through ease of use, price and collaborative usage.
