Data science and nuclear power

Data science and operating power plants

The EDF group regularly makes good use of data science to find solutions to costly problems. In the nuclear industry, clogging phenomena (obstruction) can incur some very expensive maintenance operations. A data science approach allows identification of the key factors leading to breakdowns, and development of operational procedures to monitor these. This enables clogging kinetics to be managed, resulting in increased security for the nuclear power plant fleet.

Project developed by the EDF group.

Benefits

  • Improving management processes
  • Enabling operators and providers to find mutual solutions
  • Reduced maintenance costs
