Carbon footprint: EDF halves its CO2 emissions in France

Over the same period, electricity production has risen by 26 % (annual production of 469 TWh compared with 371 TWh in 1990) . EDF 's specific emissions in mainland France, in other words the levels of CO2 emitted per kWh produced, have fallen significantly, dropping from 67 g / kWh in 1990 to 35 g / kWh in 2013 . Despite a certain level of variability (around 25 %) inherent to the climate and to hydraulicity for example, this downward trend is confirmed year on year, thanks to the industrial strategy EDF has deployed.
