EDF supports Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in hydroelectric power plant project in the United Arab Emirates... On November 9th, EDF and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) signed a contract for assistance to the Contracting Authority relating to the construction of the first pumped storage-type hydroelectric power plant in the Persian Gulf, located in the mountainous enclave of Hatta, on the border between the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Climate International Observatory - Production of CO2 and energies

Among the sources of electricity production viewed as producing the most CO2, coal-fired power plants rank first (79 %), far ahead of gas-fired plants (66 %) . Nuclear power, although decarbonized, is quoted by 50 % as producing CO2, and hydro-electric dams are mentioned by 24 % of respondents. Energy is our future, save it !.
