The future of hydroelectric renewable energy | EDF Group

The first EDF Group hydroelectric project in Brazil, the Sinop dam, located in the state of Mato Grosso, was commissioned in October 2019, four years after construction began. With a reservoir of 352 km2 and a volume of 3 billion m3, it is designed to supply electricity to 1 6 million Brazilian households .

-710 kWp installed capacity in Brazil... In Brazil, EDF is contributing to the construction and operation of (the CES) hydropower facilities. Construction of the dam began in spring 2014 and commissioning for commercial operations is scheduled for the second half of 2017 . With a 51 % stake in the consortium, the EDF group has an industrial role in both the construction and the future operation of the dam.
