NUWARD is the EDF Group’s subsidiary dedicated to development and deployment of its NUWARD_SMR. The company is developing a new small-scale modular reactor which will complement EDF’s range of nuclear power plant offers, in order to meet the growing worldwide demand for controllable and carbon-free power generation facilities. The project, combines cutting-edge innovation developed through the extensive knowledge and expertise of the best industrial partners in France (CEA, Technicatome, Framatome, Naval Group) and in Europe (Tractebel). Your missions 💬

You will report directly to the Pre-Construction Planning Manager and functionally to the Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the constructability & associated construction method of the NUWARD Nuclear Island (NI).

As part of the MANUFACTURING & CONSTRUCTION team, you will be in charge to review, validate and optimize  the constructability aspects of the project in full interaction with the DESIGN & LICENSING team, the DELIVERY team, as well as supporting management of construction preparation activities relating to the NI (Nuclear Island) area. Your principal objective is to reduce the project construction time and associated costs, and to ensure feasibility of the construction. 

Your principal mission will include:

  • Oversee the services related to pre-construction activities on your NI domain;
  • Ensure the correct deployment and application of constructability terms of reference for your domain, in collaboration with the constructability manager and members of the construction team;
  • Identify the construction methods and design practices allowing to guarantee the constructability of the NI design, organize benchmark analysis of best techniques with relevant industrial actors and EDF group entities;
  • Participate to the elaboration of the construction schedule of the NI and its optimization by improving the constructability aspects, define Site Need Dates for NI, identify prerequisites, identify risks;
  • Coordinate with BIM / Schedule / 4D model / modularity teams working on NI sphere;
  • Manage, control and follow-up the Works and Services provided by the project partners or external service providers related to NI Constructability;
  • Support drawing up contract specifications and requirements for construction activities (for project partners or external service providers).




Desired profile

Localisation 📍

Job based in Montrouge with trips to other NUWARD sites (Lyon, Paris) and to our partners engineering sites (TechnicAtome in Aix-en-Provence, Naval Group in Nantes, Framatome in Lyon, Engie Tractebel in Brussels).


Your profile 🙋

You have an Engineering Degree or equivalent. 
You have at least 10 Years experience in Construction of large scale industry or energy sectors.


🎯 Requirements and skills

  • You have an Extensive knowledge to review construction processes from start to finish during pre-construction phase.
  • You are able to identify obstacles before a project is actually built to reduce or prevent errors, delays, and cost overruns
  • You have an Extensive knowledge of Construction Processes, Phasing of Work and Construction Schedule
  • You have a transverse understanding of P, M, E, Civil, Structural, Safety Practices, and Architectural systems to be used on the Project
  • You have good knowledge and experience with Scheduling and Construction
  • You have knowledge and experience of Standards, Construction Techniques, and Building Codes
  • You have good sense of confidentiality,
  • Knowledge of BIM methodology is a plus,
  • Knowledge of French nuclear industry is a plus,
  • Knowledge of PWR Nuclear Island reactors is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
