From bikes to scooters and hoverboards, electric personal transport options are gradually replacing cars in our cities. To facilitate and support this transition to a softer, more sustainable model of mobility, eBikePort has developed a charging station that’s completely free at the point of use. It is easily installed and requires no civil engineering input for set-up or commissioning.
This new solution is eco-friendly in two ways: manufactured in France using sustainable, recyclable and recycled materials, eBikePort also provides terminals for recharging e-bikes and other personal devices, including smartphones, laptops, electric wheelchairs, cameras and scooters. The entire station and the services available are self-powered using electricity generated from its inbuilt photovoltaic panels. The charging station also features a WiFi hotspot, integrated information screen and secure lockers for the personal property of users. And all for free!

The idea for this revolutionary charging station germinated in the mind of Philippe Faye. To develop his innovation, this Limoges-based entrepreneur has worked alongside Sébastien Bouquet and David Bocquier, who are respectively responsible for the maintenance and electrical aspects of the recharging station.
As he was returning from a long e-bike ride though the Landes region, Philippe experienced the annoyance of having a flat battery on his way home. And that was the start of the process of developing a solution in the form of a self-powered, fully autonomous charging station. He saw the market opportunity... and dived straight in!
What are the most recent developments for your start-up?
The French department of Haute-Vienne has just ordered 3 eBikePort stations from us, which will be installed around Saint-Pardoux lake. It’s a real sign of recognition for us and our product!
What’s been the most unexpected thing that’s happened as a result of the start-up?
We were in a meeting in Spain where we had to speak English! So that was a pretty good demonstration that sustainable mobility isn’t just a French issue, it’s an international need.
So how does your project revolutionise your category?
There’s no civil engineering involved in installing our eBikePort. And its photovoltaic panels make it entirely self-sufficient in energy. Lastly, it’s 100% French made, and the majority of the materials we use are recyclable.
